Collingwood v Port Adelaide - AFL betting - 03.05.2019
May 01, 2019
Round 7 of the AFL gets started this Friday night with the match of the round: Collingwood v Port Adelaide. The Pies and Power are two of the form teams of the competition, sitting third and fifth respectively with identical 4-2 win-loss records.
Collingwood v Port Adelaide Preview
Collingwood will enjoy having an eight-day break after a tight win over the Bombers on Anzac Day. The Pies are travelling beautifully at the moment and are riding a three-match win streak after a shaky start to the season. Coach Nathan Buckley has his men playing the same keepings-off style they deployed so successfully in the lead-up to last year’s grand final. The Pies are second (to Port Adelaide) for disposals per game and are a clear first for marks per game.
Port are in many ways the surprise packet of the 2019 AFL season given many pundits were predicting them to miss the eight. They’ve taken it to the top teams this year, thrashing premiers West Coast in Perth and only losing narrowly to Richmond at home. We’ve seen the Power dominate early on in the past couple of seasons but drop away in the second half of the year. The big question for Ken Hinkley’s men is whether they can sustain their current form against Collingwood and beyond.
Collingwood v Port Adelaide Betting Tips
With Collingwood, you can be fairly confident they’ll put in a good performance. With Port, you never really know what you’re going to get. The Power have won twice away from home this season – against Melbourne at the MCG in round one and against West Coast a couple of weeks ago. Can they win at the home of footy for a second time in seven weeks? TopBetta is paying 3.35 for a Port win, and we’re seriously tempted.

For a safer option, look to spread betting. Palmerbet is starting Port at +22.5 points, and we’re confident the Power can keep it under that margin.
