Sydney FC vs Perth Glory A-League Preview and Betting Tips

Ladder leaders Perth Glory face their biggest test of the 2018-19 A-League season when they host third-placed Sydney FC at nib Stadium on Friday night. The Glory are unbeaten after eight games but Sydney FC returned to form last week with a 3-1 thrashing at cross-town rivals Western Sydney Wanderers.

Glory Unbeaten at Home, Sydney FC Unbeaten Away

 Glory have won three and drawn one from their four home fixtures this season, but they haven’t put any teams to the sword. In their last home game, against Melbourne City, Christopher Ikonomidis scored in the first half and Glory held on in the second after the visitors were reduced to 10 men. In the home match prior to that, Central Coast had a man sent off in the 93th minute and Ikonomidis scored in the 95th to give Glory a 3-2 win and spare them embarrassment against the league’s worst team.

Sydney FC have been better away than at home. In their last four away games, they’ve beaten Melbourne City 3-0, drawn 1-1 with Newcastle Jets, and beaten Central Coast 2-1 and Wanderers 3-1. What all this tells us is Sydney FC are in with a fighting chance and there’ll be goals aplenty. Bet365 is offering 2.70 for Sydney FC to beat Glory and 1.55 for Sydney FC or a draw.
