Australia vs Wales Predictions
November 08, 2018
The Welsh should be in confident mood, with Warren Gatland’s side hitting some good form over the past year. They beat the South Africans last December and in June this year and also secured a 2-0 series victory in Argentina, without many of their leading players. They also finished as runners-up to Ireland in the 2018 Six Nations and come into the game against Australia on the back of a 21-10 win at home to Scotland last weekend.

It’s a run of results that has seen Wales secure third spot in the World Rugby rankings and, despite them missing a number of players through injury (particularly in the back-row) and the retirement of Sam Warburton, means that they will present a formidable challenge to Michael Cheika’s Wallabies.
Australia’s form is in stark contrast to that of the Welsh, with just three wins coming from their 10 Tests this season. That in turn has seen them slump to an all-time low of seventh in the world rankings.
In their most recent match, the 3rd Bledisloe Cup Test of the year at the International Stadium Yokohama in Japan in what was officially a dead-rubber with the All Blacks having already taken a decisive 2-0 lead in the series, the Wallabies lost 37-20. On the plus side, there were signs that the Australian attack was beginning to take shape and the return of centre Samu Kerevi for this tour adds to that.
Cheika managed to steer Australia to the final at the last World Cup against the odds and, as things stand, he’s going to have to mastermind another perfectly timed run of results to have them in the frame in Japan.
