NRL: Knights Premiership Odds Slashed
September 24, 2013
As we head into the Preliminary Finals of the NRL, Newcastle Knights odds to win the competition have dropped below $10 for the first time this season.
Online bookmaker Sportsbet were quoting odds of $67 about Newcastle Knights to win the 2013 NRL Premiership after Round 25, but following their narrow 16-18 win over Melbourne Storm they are now as short as $8 to win the competition. That is however, still the biggest price to win the competition with their opponents on Saturday the current tournament favourites available at $2.50, while South Sydney Rabbitohs are available at $2.60 and Manly Sea Eagles are a $5.50 chance.
At the season start Knights were a $10 shot to win the premiership, before getting out to $34 by round 15. After mini revival, they firmed into $26 by round 21 before finishing the regular season at a quote of $51. Since the conclusion of the preliminary finals, the Roosters have attracted 51% of all the money bet on the premiership winner market, with the Knights and Bunnies both attracting 18% and Manly 13%.
2013 NRL Premiership winner odds from Sportsbet:
$2.50 Sydney Roosters
$2.60 South Sydney Rabbitohs
$5.00 Manly Sea Eagles
$8.00 Newcastle Knights
